About this event:
This session explores the experiences of LGBTIQ refugees in Germany, focusing on the challenges they face during the asylum process, their rights, and the realities of everyday life. Participants will gain insights into community organizing and inclusion, as well as the impacts of European migration policies and the latest developments. The session will conclude with practical discussion on support networks and ways organizations and individuals can contribute to creating safer, more inclusive environments.
About the event series:
The ‘BVT* – Questions and Answers’ series is aimed at anyone interested in learning about current trans* politics. On the one hand, it focuses on issues that are currently being discussed extensively within the communities. On the other hand, it raises questions that have received too little attention in many areas. The aim of the event is to create a platform for regular exchange on human rights demands in trans* and queer politics. The concerns of trans*, non-binary and intersex (TIN) people, as well as those of multiply marginalised people, should be considered in solidarity with one another.
Format:
Short input followed by a question and discussion round, online via Zoom.
We reserve the right to deny access to the event or to exclude from it any persons who belong to extreme right-wing organisations, are associated with the extreme right-wing scene, or have made or continue to make racist, nationalist, anti-semitic, queerphobic or other inhuman statements in the past.
